3. Battery Service Life & Maintenance Recommendations
Tips to Extend Battery Life
-
Shallow charging and discharging: Charge as needed and try to keep the battery level between 20% and 80%. Avoid frequently charging from 0% to 100%.
-
Avoid storing the battery fully discharged: When not used for a long period, keep the battery at approximately 50% charge and recharge it every 1–2 months.
-
Pay attention to temperature: Do not charge immediately after exposure to strong sunlight. In winter, charge indoors in a warm environment whenever possible. Extreme temperatures accelerate battery aging.
Note: The 12-month battery warranty is intended to fully cover manufacturing defects and early failure (battery capacity not lower than 80%). After the warranty period ends, natural capacity degradation is a normal physical characteristic of lithium batteries and is not considered a manufacturing defect.
-
The battery range is drastically reduced (50% or more lower than the brand-new state);
-
The battery case is swollen, deformed, cracked or leaking;
-
Abnormal heating during charging (temperature is significantly higher than the normal state), or the charging speed is suddenly too fast/slow;
-
Sudden power cut or unstable power during riding (excluding faults of other scooter components);
-
The battery cannot be charged or loses power instantly after being idle for a period of time.
-
We have fulfilled our statutory obligations of product quality assurance and safety risk warning in accordance with the U.S. Product Liability Law, Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and other relevant laws. The above warranty period, service life and risk warnings are all in line with U.S. national and industry standards, and have been clearly informed to users through this statement.
-
We shall not bear any product liability, tort liability or compensation liability for any fire, spontaneous combustion, property loss or personal injury caused by: using the battery beyond its normal service life; improper use/maintenance (including unauthorized modification, use of non-original accessories, storage in harsh environments, etc.); or failure to replace the aging battery in a timely manner. The user shall bear all corresponding legal liabilities and losses by himself/herself.
-
For matters not covered in this statement, the relevant laws and regulations of the United States shall prevail. We reserve the right of final interpretation of this statement, and will adjust it synchronously in accordance with the updated U.S. laws and industry standards.
TERMS OF LIMITED WARRANTY:
This limited warranty is not meant to suggest or imply that the scooter cannot be broken or will last forever. It does mean that the scooter is covered subject to the terms of the limited warranty. This limited warranty is void if the scooter is subjected to abuse, neglect, improper repair, improper maintenance, alteration, modification, an accident, or other abnormal, excessive, or improper use.
Damage resulting from normal wear and tear, including the results of fatigue, is not covered. Fatigue damage is a symptom of the frame being worn out through normal use. It is one kind of normal wear and tear, and it is the owner’s responsibility to inspect his/her scooter. Damage resulting from improper assembly or maintenance, or from the installation of parts and accessories not compatible with the Varla scooter, is not covered.
All labor charges for warranty service are the responsibility of the scooter’s owner. In the event that the processing of a warranty claim requires shipping, any such shipping charges are the responsibility of the scooter’s owner. During the duration of this limited warranty, Varla will either repair any defective frame or component or, at our option, replace any defective frame or component with the same or most nearly comparable model or component then available.
THIS IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY. ANY AND ALL OTHER REMEDIES AND DAMAGES THAT MAY OTHERWISE BE APPLICABLE ARE EXCLUDED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. THIS IS THE ONLY WARRANTY MADE BY VARLA ON ITS FRAMES AND COMPONENTS, AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION HEREIN. ANY WARRANTIES THAT MAY OTHERWISE BE IMPLIED BY LAW INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXCLUDED.
This Limited Warranty gives the consumer specific legal rights. The consumer may also have other legal rights that vary from state to state or country to country. Some states and countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. If it is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction that a certain provision of this limited warranty does not apply, such determination shall not affect any other provision of this limited warranty and all other provisions shall remain in effect.
